The “unstructured” structured 160 seconds meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif (Nov.30) on the side lines of the Climate Change Meeting (COP21) in Paris may have kindled some hope in both countries for resumption of dialogue in this tension ridden relationship.

The wheels of justice grind slowly, but they grind extremely small. On November 22, Ali Ahsan Mohammed Mujahid and Saluddin Quader Choudhary, two of the worst perpetrators of atrocities against freedom loving Bengalees, were hanged to death. After 44 long years the sufferers got some justice. More importantly, the ghosts of 1971 haunting the nation, are beginning to be exorcised.

Pakistan Army Chief, General Raheel Sharif’s visit to United States from November 16-20, 2015 has raised more questions than meets the eye. This is because of the contradictory reports in Pakistani media that the Pakistan Army Chief was not on a “US-invited visit” but instigated a “self-invited” visit, hardly a few weeks after the Pakistani Prime Minister had visited Washington to meet President Obama.
